Morbi is a city of Rajkot District, 62 km from Rajkot. You can reach Morbi within 1.5 hrs from Rajkot. Morbi is famous for Hanging Bridge, White Palace, Darbar Gadh, Nehru Gate and Mani Mandir. Morbi is also well known for tiles & clock manufacturing.

Lukhdhirji engineering college, also known as L.E. College, is one of Gujarat's oldest technical institutions. It is also known as Morbi Technical Institute.

Tourist Attraction in Morbi City :
Hanging Bridge of Morbi is very famous tourist place. Palace of former Morbi King, Mani Mandir and Victoria Garden opposite to Mani Mandir are good place to visit.

The Nehru Gate is made out of stone using elements of Rajput architecture with central clock tower, while another one uses elements of western architecture and is capped by a three-storyed cast iron frame structure with a dome. Darbargadh, on the bank of Machchu River is now heritage hotel. Lakhdhirji Engineering College is housed in Nazarbag Palace. Famous Ajanta Quartz and Samay Quartz, world's largest clock manufacturer is located on Morbi Road.

The most promising ceramics production hub - Morbi is a city located in Saurashtra peninsula of Gujarat, India. The city is a home to more then 350 ceramic product manufacturing units. The main products of this ceramic city are best quality ceramic tiles, vitrified tiles, floor tiles, Glazed wall tiles, sanitary wares, porcelain tiles, spartek tiles, glaze tile, roofing tiles and mosaic tiles. WELCOME TO J.A. PATEL MAHILA COLLEGE


Shri Kadava Patidar Kanya Kelavani Mandal, Morbi trust was registered in July 1977 to fulfill the educational requirements of women of rural area. In the beginning, secondary school, Sri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Kanya Vidyalay and Kanya Chhatralay were started in 26, June 1978. Due to the increasing demand of education, the number of classes reached up to 54 and it became necessary to bifurcate the school. The bifurcation was done in June 2000 and a separate school named Smt. Dholiben Jayrajbhai Patel Kanya Vidhyalay was started. At present, round about 6000 girls students are studying in this campus.

Our college Smt J A Patel Mahila College was started in June 1986 to fulfill the requirement of higher education with Commerce and Home Science program. Later on in June 1988 Arts stream was also added in this college. For the further demand of higher education, gradually self finance programs and self finance institutions of BCA, Arts and other programs like B.Ed. and PTC were also started. In this way our management has taken a lead in the field of education to fulfill the educational demands of this area.

As far as the emphasis given on the quality based education, the college has developed the infrastructure and learning resources to keep pace E with the time. We ourselves are aware about these challenges and trying our level best to fulfill the educational demands and desires of the women students. Institution keeps eye on the all round development of women and mould their character. Each and every woman should be a civilized person of the nation who can contribute to the society and the nation at large. Till today, our institution has given thousands of graduate women students to this area and it is obvious that this area would have benefited a lot.

Lukhdhirji Engineering College of Morbi (L. E. College of Morbi)

The Government established the college in 1951 and since Maharaja Lukhdhirji of Morbi donated his palace to the college, the Institute was named after him. The college is situated on the bank of river Machhu, in Morbi, L. E. College campus boasts of a palatial building, workshops, a swimming pool, a badminton court and a vast expanse of a sports field and boys and girls hostels. With these, it occupies the position of pride of having one of BIGGEST TECHNICAL EDUCATIONAL CAMPUS in Gujarat state.


Apart from the three basic faculties of Civil, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, the era of Specialization courses had dawned in 1972 when the college started the faculty of Production Engineering. Also the following courses are there in the college at present :
(1) Power Electronics
(2) Information Technology
(3) Industrial Engineering
(4) Diploma in ceramic Engineering
(5) Diploma in three basic faculties


Till now, more than 10,000 students have passed out of the college from varous Degree, Diploma & Certificate Courses. This in the HIGHEST NUMER as Compared to any other technical institution of the state. Engineers Graduated from this institution, today, occupy places of pride in the industrial fields like the P.W.D., G.E.B., Public & Private sectors & the Armed Forces. In the educational field, the institution has produced Professors, Directors of Technical Education, Chairman of Technical Examination Board, Advisors in Dept. of science & Technology and vice chancellors of universities.
